Matti Tissari
Gospel - simple and unchanging
As a text for his sermon Matti Tissari read from the Acts of the Apostles, from the chapter 16, its verses 25-40. The text told how apostle Paul and his workmate were put into prison during their mission trip. Although laying prisoned after having been lashed they were praying and praising. Paul understood that the Heavenly Father allowed them a hard time of this kind.
Then, while praying, the doors of the prison were opened and the prisoners got their freedom. The scared prison guard was asking Paul and Silas how he could receive the everlasting life. They preached the gospel to him and exhorted he would believe in the Lord Jesus. The prison guard believed their word and became a child of God."The gospel of the forgiveness of sins is a short messge, but it is the power of God unto salvation to anyone who believes it".
The very same gospel that Paul proclaimed still exist and is valid. On the last day everyone will stand before God and be responsible for one's deeds. This is why it pays to be obedient to the call of God and receive the gospel for oneself. Believing the gospel you will gain the heaven after this earthly life.
