Tapani Kirsilä
Time passes
Tapani Kirsilä spoke from the Ecclesiastes (Ecc. 12:1-7) about how quickly the human life passes. With reference to this notion he reminded the listeners about the importance of repentance and keeping watch in faith: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth." He observed that many individuals may have grown apart from God with age.
Another point of view in Kirsilä's sermon was that God's time is also passing. "What we see now will not last forever", he said. Kirsilä interpreted that the author of the Ecclesiastes referred to the times becoming more difficult when writing about the darkening of "the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars". He stated that immorality and unethicality have indeed increased in today's world.
Kirsilä concluded his sermon by pointing out that even in the present times that are characterised by a multitude of religions and faiths, "God is gathering his last chosen ones". He also rejoiced in how the right faith and gospel are spreading around the world.
