Safety instructions to the service guests
When arriving at the service site
- Park your car, caravan, motorhome or pitch your tent as instructed.
- Unlock the storage compartment for the LP (Liquid Petroleum) tanks of your caravan or motorhome and keep the crank for the stabilizing legs in a visible place. Check the fittings to the LP tanks and the operation of the gas appliances. If you have questions or problems regarding the use of LP gas appliances, please contact a LP serviceman. Phone:
- Note the location of the nearest fire-extinguisher and its operation.
- Using the grid marked on the service map, mark and memorize the alphanumeric coordinates of your caravan, vehicle or tent.
The following is forbidden at the service site:
- Open flames or bonfires
- Use of outdoor butane stoves or barbeques
- Use of wood-burning stoves or heaters in tents
- All other things that might create a same kind of fire hazard
In case of emergencies such as in the event of fire, heart attack or other sudden illness, gas leak, or inappropriate behavior ask for help by dialing the national emergency number 112. In case of emergency, everyone has the responsibility to help one another.
Note how these safety instructions have changed from previous years:
- The ambulance on the service site will be stationed at the safety center.
- All emergency calls will be made by dialing the national emergency number, 112.
- Smokers: Please respect everyone's concern for enjoying tidiness and safety. Promise not to smoke in non-smoking areas and cause discomfort for others nearby. Smoking is completely forbidden near the cafeteria area.
In the event of an accident:
- Act calmly.
- Save anyone in harm's way.
- Call the national emergency phone number by dialing 112 or contacting the nearest proctor or security man.
- Begin putting out the fire or administering first aid to the patient calmly, but swiftly.
Instructions in case of fire:
- If a tent starts on fire, make sure there is no one inside it. Loosen the tent strings and trample it down. Smother the fire with the nearest extinguisher.
- If clothing is ablaze, snuff it out with other clothing, blanket, and similar material or roll the victim on the ground.
- If the ground is on fire, trample the spreading flames with your feet or snuff it out using sand, clothing, blankets, etc. Quench the burning ground with water.
- If a caravan or motorhome starts on fire, first make sure no one is inside. Then try to stop the fire using the nearest fire extinguishers, shut off and remove the LP gas tanks, call the national emergency number 112, and warn others by yelling; "FIRE, FIRE!"
Heart attacks or sudden illness
- Be of assistance to the person in need of help and do your best to aid them.
- Call for more help by phoning the emergency number, 112.
- Ask others to help you too.
- In case of unconsciousness, lay the victim on their side.
