Welcome to the Summer Services at Reisjärvi On Radio and the Web!

The Summer Services are the largest spiritual event in the Nordic countries, the annual summer celebration of the Conservative Lestadian, one of the revival movements within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. All are welcome to Summer Services. There is no entry fee.

The Word of God is the most important at the services, the sermons, based on scripture, the singing and the meeting one another. We want to convey a safe message of forgiveness of sins and invite all to believe.

In addition to the sermons, the holy communion will be held in the big tent on Saturday and a church worship service, as well as Sunday school on Sunday. Worship services will be also organized in nearby churches on Sunday in cooperation with local churches.

The 2021 Summer Services (July 2-5) will be held (due to the corona pandemic) on the radio and the web. The service broadcast will come frome Reijärvi Christian College. The previous time Summer Services were organized in Reisjärvi was in 1968.

The organization of summer services requires years of well-organized work in advance.

The work is carried out on a voluntary basis. For the summer of 2021, 11 RYs are responsible for organizing the Summer Services: the Haapajärvi, Haapavesi, Haikara, Korpiranta, Kärsämäki, Nivala, Pihtipudas, Pyhäjärvi, Pyhäntä, Reisjärvi and Ypyä RYs. The Haapajärvi RY has the main responsibility.

The motto of the Summer Services 2021 is, “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust.” (Ps. 31: 1) Amidst the times of change and insecurity, the service emblem is a reminder of the constant security and trust in the care of God Almighty.

The invitation to the services touches everyone. The work of the kingdom of God continues in accordance with the Savior’s mission to preach the gospel to all nations. At its core is the forgiveness of sins in the name and blood of Jesus. Forgiveness is offered to everyone needing mercy.

We want to organize regular, safe, functional, good feeling Summer Services in Reisjärvi, to which everyone is welcome to attend. Openness, trust and responsibility are our guiding values in our preparation and organization work.
